CANTON, June 14 – Canton shortstop Gerard Taylor had a double and two singles but it wasn’t enough as the Tribury Twisters outslugged the winless Crushers, 11-4 on Sunday evening at Bowdoin Field. 

Ben Sullivan was 2-for-3 with a pair of singles for Canton (0-7) while Jon Scippa, Jake Bryant, Reynaldo Torres and Steve Dubois each had singles for the Crushers. 

Ben Guisto earned the win for Tribury (4-5) by pitching 3 1/3 innings, striking out four and giving up no earned runs. Guisto also had three hits and three RBI for Tribury. Zach Brown had two doubles and run scored for Tribury while Alex Rodriguez, Bryan Webster and Dom Mascola each had two hits. 

For Canton, Andre Eason took the loss on the mound, going four innings and allowing five runs. Jake Bryant made his Crusher debut on the mound, giving up three runs in the fifth and four in the eighth. 

Canton hosts the Thomaston Threshers (3-4) on Thursday at 5:45 p.m. at Bowdoin Field. It is the one of the few remaining home games. After playing the Threshers, Canton plays seven of its final nine regular season games on the road. The Crushers play at Fuessenich Park in Torrington Sunday night at 6 p.m. when they tangle with the Rebels.
