Peter James Everett, age 44 of Collinsville and Fairfield, died suddenly on Saturday, October 3, 2015, as the result of a motorcycle accident.
He was the beloved son of John and Jean (Farrell) Everett of Fairfield; the brother of Christopher (Sonya) Everett and the cool uncle of two lovely nieces, all of Mount Airy, MD.
He was born in Chelmsford, Essex, England and came to the United States with his family at a very young age. Peter had a happy upbringing in Fairfield and had many wonderful memories of camping, sailing, rock climbing and enjoying the beauty of the outdoors with his family. He graduated, with honors, from Carnegie Mellon University with a degree in Industrial Design. His design talents then led him to a successful career as a freelance artist and most recently with Group 4 Design in Avon, where his creativity flourished for the past 15 years.
Peter fit the bill as a true Renaissance Man. Beyond his proficiency at work, he was brilliant on many other levels. He was an accomplished builder, especially of boats. Drawing, painting and music were the prime outlets for Peter. He played a mean cello in addition to other stringed instruments and performed often with the band Robot IQ or casually at parties with friends. He was a leader and mentor to many and effortlessly gained trust and respect from colleagues and friends. Peter’s unique personality, loyalty to his family and altruistic support of his friends will be forever missed.
Friends are invited to a Memorial Service on Thursday, October 15, 2015 at 12:00 p.m. at the Shaughnessey Banks Funeral Home, 50 Reef Rd. in Fairfield Center. Friends may greet his family from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Interment will be private.
