BRISTOL, April 23 – The Canton High boys lacrosse team didn’t let an early three-goal deficit rattle their confidence Saturday afternoon against Bristol Central.

The Warriors responded with a 9-0 run over the next 15 minutes to earn their second straight victory for the first time in the program’s history with a 13-6 win over Bristol Central. Canton didn’t give up a goal in the final 15:07 of the first half to take command of the contest.

With a 10-6 win over Suffield on Friday, the Warriors have won two straight for the first time. Since losing by 14 to Somers last Friday, Canton has captured three of their last four games. They beat Newington, 10-6, last week before losing by five to Ellington on Tuesday, 16-11.

Bristol Central (1-4) led 3-0 with 1:18 remaining in the first quarter when Madigan finally got Canton on the scoreboard. It was less than 20 seconds later when Daubert scored off a pretty pass from Whittingslow to cut the lead to one with 42 seconds left in the quarter.

Giancola tied the game with 31 seconds gone in the second quarter. A minute later, Eddie Melton gave Canton its first lead with a goal and about 30 seconds later, it was Whittingslow off an assist from Daubert for a 5-3 lead.

Madigan, Giancola, Melton and Whittingslow each had two goals in Canton’s 9-0 surge.

Canton (4-6, 0-1 NCCC) returns to the field on Tuesday when they travel to Granby to face the Bears at 3:45 p.m.
