Watkinson wins HVAL title, earns another invitation to New England tournament

HARTFORD – Avon’s Jordan Karp helped the Watkinson School boys tennis team win the Hudson Valley League (HVAL) championship recently. Watkinson went undefeated in HVAL league play this season, winning the league title for the second year in a row. Watkinson beat Forman School in Litchfield to win the HVAL tournament crown for the first time since 2009.Taylor Lemus (Hartford).

Watkinson did receive an invitation to the New England Prep School Athletic Council (NEPSAC) tournament for the third straight season but was defeated by eventual New England champion Portsmouth Abbey, 4-0 in the Class C semifinals.
