Avon residents donate $10,000 to annual booster club fundraising drive

Members of the field hockey program helped collect nearly $800 for this weekend’s annual Avon Booster Club fundraising drive.

AVON, Sept. 17 – Generosity of Avon residents helped the Avon High Booster Club raise $10,000 this weekend during the annual ticket drive this weekend.

More than 140 student athletes representing each of the athletic teams at the high school were escorted around town by 30 parents/drivers. The students knocked on doors to solicit donations for the booster club.

Donations to the Avon Booster Club will help fund equipment, programs and scholarships for Avon High student athletes. Residents also got the opportunity to purchase season tickets to Avon athletic contests throughout the year.

In the past 12 months, the Avon Booster Club has invested more than $35,000 for the respective Avon High athletic programs.

More than 120 students participated in Saturday’s Avon Booster Club fundraising drive.

A group of freshman field hockey players collected the largest amount of donations on Saturday, pulling in nearly $800. Over 20 senior athletes participated, representing nearly every sports team.
