Canton is top seed in NCCC Tournament that begins on Wednesday

CANTON, Feb. 12 – Canton is the top seed in the 2018 NCCC girls basketball tournament that begins on Wednesday.

The Warriors, who went undefeated in the league at 16-0 and won their fifth league championship, open up in the tournament on Friday night, February 16 against the winner of Wednesday’s game between No. 8 Rockville and No. 9 East Granby.

It’s the first time that Canton went undefeated in the league since 1998.

Suffield is the defending NCCC Tournament champion after beating East Windsor, 53-29 in the title game last February. The last time that Canton won the league tournament was in 1997 when they beat Ellington, 62-41. The last time that the Warriors played in the final was 1999.
