Despite overtime loss, Darien remains No. 1 in state coaches girls lacrosse poll

There was little change in the state top 10 girls lacrosse poll. There was no movement among the top eight teams. Fairfield Warde moved up one spot to No. 9 while Fairfield Ludlowe slipped one spot to No. 10.

Top-ranked Darien (12-2) beat No. 2 New Canaan, 13-6 on Friday for their 96th consecutive win against Connecticut opponents.

The next day, the Blue Wave dropped a 13-12 decision in overtime to Saint Stephens and St. Anges of Virgina. Saint Stephens/St. Anges is 15-0 and ranked No. 2 in the latest USA Today national poll. Darien dropped to No. 9.
