Canton High senior Peter Fuller, who earned All-New England honors in the high jump last winter, has signed a letter of intent to run track and field at Southern Connecticut State University in New Haven.

Last March, Fuller set a new school record at the New England indoor track and field championships in Boston with a leap of 6-foot-7 in the high jump to finish second and earn All-New England honors – the first athlete in Canton school history to earn All-New England honors in indoor track and field.

At the State Open, he was fourth with a jump of 6-foot-2 and he was third in Class S with another leap of 6-2. Fuller did jump 6-7 about a week after the New England championships at the New Balance Indoor Nationals in New York City, taking second place in the Emerging Elite category.

Fuller’s performance earned him a spot on GameTimeCT’s All-State indoor track and field team last winter.

Fuller earned All-State honors in the high jump in outdoor track last May’s Class S championship meet with a leap of 6-4. He finished fourth at the State Open and seventh in New England.

Fuller also earned All-State honors with a second place finish in the high jump at the Class S indoor track championships in February 2018.
