Smith goal lifts Blackhawks in game 6

CHICAGO, April 24 — Avon native and Westminister School graduate Ben Smith scored the game-winning goal in overtime to lead the Chicago Blackhawks to a 4-3 win over the Vancouver Canucks in game 6 of the Western Conference quarterfinals.
Smith, a rookie, is in his first NHL season. A year ago, he helped Boston College win the NCAA DIvision I championship. The Canucks had a 3-0 lead in the best-of-7 series.
