AVON, Oct. 16 – Jason Leaning and Ryan Baker each scored within 31 seconds of each other to lift the Avon High boys soccer team to a 2-0 victory over Somers on Tuesday at Fisher Meadows. The Falcons improved to 10-1-1 with their ninth win in the last 10 games and snapped Somers’ six-game winning streak.
Leaning gave the Falcons a 1-0 lead with 14:20 remaining in the first half knocking in a pass from Baker off a corner kick. Less than a minute later, Baker redirected a cross from Zaino into the net for the 2-0 advantage.
