NEW HAVEN, Feb. 20 – Canton’s Jake Whittingslow finished 11th for the Warriors in the 1,000 meters at the State Open indoor track and field championships. Whittingslow ran the race in 2:40.77, cutting down on his third place time (2:41.44) from the Class S meet.
Stephen Oliver became the first Canton indoor athlete to compete in the pole vault at the State Open but couldn’t clear the opening height of 11 feet. William Briggs competed in the shot put but had three fouls and didn’t register a mark.
