STAFFORD, Sept. 21 – Canton’s Max Sparks beat teammate Ethan Porter to win his first dual meet of the season as the Canton High boys cross country team swept a pair of meets with Windsor Locks, 18-45 and host Stafford, 18-41 on Wednesday.
The Warriors (3-2, 3-2 NCCC) had six runners in the top 10. Sparks won the race with a time of 17:48 over 3.1 miles.
In the girls race, Canton’s Emily Briggs beat her sister, Abby, by three seconds to capture the individual race in 21:23. Teammate Beth Magna was fourth and Cameron McCauley finished sixth. Canton (4-1, 4-1 NCCC) beat Stafford and Windsor Locks by scores of 15-50.
The Warriors return to action next Wednesday, Sept. 28, when they travel to Elizabeth Park in West Hartford to face Hartford Classical and Somers in a NCCC dual meet.
