Darien rises to No. 1 in state field hockey poll; Granby joins top 10 at No. 8
Six undefeated teams remain ranked in the latest top 10 field hockey coaches poll. Darien (11-0) rose to No. 1 after previous top-ranked New Canaan dropped their first game of the season on Friday in a 3-1 loss to Ridgefield.
Granby made their first appearance of the season in the top 10, debuting at No. 8. The Bears (7-0-1) have won seven straight matches after a 0-0 tie with Westbrook in the first game of the season. Granby beat Pomperaug on Friday, 4-0 for their seventh shutout of the season.
