Protest in support of mother killed in Minnesota held in Avon

A vigil and protest was held at the corner Route 44 and 10 in Avon Thursday afternoon in support of the Minneapolis woman killed by an immigration official on Wednesday. More photos

There have been protests around the country over the death of a Minneapolis mother, Renee Nicole Good, who was shot and killed by an ICE immigration agent on Wednesday morning. There was a protest in Hartford Thursday night outside the Abraham Ribicoff Federal Court building.

There was also a peaceful protest in Avon at the intersection of Route 44 and Route 10, organized by a local chapter of Indivisible Connecticut. Several dozen men and women of all ages stood in support of Good and protested the policies of the Trump administration and ICE for an hour as commuters passed by, many honking on their car horns in support of the event.
