AVON — The Avon High Booster Club will be holding its annual ticket fundraising drive this Sunday, Sept. 20, from noon to 4 p.m. Dozens of current athletes will be canvassing the town seeking donations.A year ago, the students raised $8,000. Proceeds help the Booster Club purchase essential gear, supplies and training for Avon High athletes.
The Booster Club is paying for lights for Spirit Week at Avon High next week. The field hockey team, girls soccer and football team will play under the lights at the high school. Here is a schedule of next week’s Spirit Week activities.
Spirit Week 2015
- Monday, Sept. 21: VOLLEYBALL – Weaver at Avon, 5:30 p.m.; FIELD HOCKEY: Simsbury at Avon, 7 p.m.
- Tuesday, Sept. 22: CROSS COUNTRY – Bulkeley at Avon, 4 p.m. (Fisher Meadows); BOYS SOCCER – Weaver at Avon (Fisher Meadows), 4:15 p.m.
- Thursday, Sept. 24: GIRLS SOCCER – Bulkeley at Avon, 6 p.m
- Friday, Sept. 25: FOOTBALL – Tolland at Avon, 7 p.m.
- Saturday, Sept. 26: CREW – Avon at Head of the Tomahawk Regatta, Connecticut River, Glastonbury; CROSS COUNTRY: Avon at Winding Trails Invitational, Farmington
