Ellington and Granby shared the 2017 NCCC boys tennis championship this spring. Both teams finished with 11-1 records in the league. Ellington did win the NCCC postseason tournament with Kyle Johnson winning the No. 1 singles title and Lucas VanDeventer taking the No. 2 singles crown.
For the Bears, Adam Holden and Evan Cramer won the No. 2 doubles crown.
At the Class S tournament, Canton’s top singles player Joseph Bowman won a pair of matches before falling in the third round to No. 11 Jacob Stiger of Stonington.
