CANTON, June 11 – The Cheshire Flames rapped out 25 hits in two games to sweep a doubleheader from Canton in the Connecticut Women’s Softball League opener for both teams on Sunday.
The Flames had 14 hits in a 5-0 win in the opening game and had 11 hits in a 6-2 decision in the nightcap.
Danielle Leone, Jenn Sicinski and Megan Mularski were each 2-for-3 in the second game for Canton (0-2). Kristen Grecula had a double for Canton. In the first game, Amy Hartman and Leone were each 2-for-3 with Hartman hitting a double.
Canton hurler Anne Pikin struck out seven in a complete game performance in the opener. Canton returns to the field on Sunday when they travel to Suffield to face the Executive Valet Angels (0-2) at 4 p.m. for a doubleheader.
