
Canton’s Michael Sullivan pitched six innings of shutout baseball to lead the Warriors to their second win of the season.
CANTON, April 18 – Michael Sullivan pitched six shutout innings, allowing four hits and striking out five to lead the Canton High baseball team to a 7-1 win over Ellington in North Central Connecticut Conference play on Wednesday at Bowdoin Field.
Ryan Enns led the way for Canton (2-1) at the plate, going 3-for-4 with two RBI and a double. Jack Rose had a double and two RBI for the Warriors. Sullivan had a single and two RBI as well at the plate.
Ellington (3-3), which dropped their second game in two days, was led by Holmes, who was 2-for-3 with a double for the Purple Knights.
Canton returns to action on Thursday with a non-league road game at Terryville High beginning at 3:45 p.m.

SIMSBURY, April 18 – Three Simsbury High pitchers combined to strike out 14 as the Trojan baseball team outlasted Northwest Catholic, 7-5 in a CCC West contest Wednesday night at Memorial Field.
Starting pitcher Brandon White got the win, going four innings, allowing five hits and striking out a team-high eight batters. Luke Benneche, who had three strikeouts in 1 1/3 of an inning, secured the save for the Trojans (2-3).
Benneche loaded the bases with two outs with three walks but struck out Ben Manzi on a 3-2 pitch to end the game.
Tate Valerio, Jack Montgomery and Jack McNally were each 2-for-3 at the plate. McNally had a double and three RBI while Montgomery drove in two runs. Valerio had a double for Simsbury.
Simsbury travels to Hall on Friday afternoon in their next game and head to Suffield on Saturday at 10 a.m. for an early-morning contest.
