WATERBURY, August 11 – The Braintree (Mass.) White Sox have been perfect in the postseason.
The White Sox won their ninth straight postseason contest with a 3-0 victory over Fedell’s Mechanics of Trumbull Sunday at Municipal Stadium to claim their third straight AABC Northeast World Series baseball championship.
Will Brennan hit a two-run home run in the sixth inning while Sean Keady had a RBI single in the fifth inning for the White Sox (32-5), who were 4-0 at the Northeast World Series.
Braintree pitcher P.J. Brown allowed just four hits and struck out five to earn the win on the mound. Fedell’s finished at 22-8-1.
The White Sox handed Fedell’s their first loss of the tournament on Saturday in a 10-1 decision. John Folino went the distance on the mound for the Sox while teammates’ Mike Muir had a two-run single and a two-run double later in the game. Matt Foley hit a home run for Braintree.
