BURLINGTON, Sept. 13 – Josh Martinotti scored a pair of touchdowns to help the Lewis Mills football team snap a 13-game losing streak with a 46-0 victory over Bulkeley/HMTCA/Weaver on Friday night at the high school.

The Spartans (1-0, 1-0 CCC Division III East) played their first-ever night game with portable lights on their home field and captured their first-ever Central Connecticut Conference contest. It was the most points scored in a game in team history and largest margin of victory.

Mills set the tone early with eight of the first 10 points from their defense with a 20-yard interception return from Martinotti and a pair of safeties. Martinotti and Colby Nordstorm each had two-yard TD runs in the second quarter to take a 25-0 lead at halftime.

Previously, the largest margin of victory was 29 points in a 35-6 win over Stafford/East Windsor in 2014. Mills scored 42 points in a 42-28 win over Morgan in 2011.
