Three young golfers from the area will be competing this weekend at Lyman Orchards Golf Club in Middlefield in the National Car Rental PGA Junior League regional championship tournament.

The golfers will be competing on eight 13-and-under All-Star teams and seven 17-and-under All-Star teams. The eight 13U teams will compete for one of 12 spots at the national PGA Junior League championships in Scottsdale, Arizona on Oct. 6-9. The 17U teams will conclude their season with this weekend’s regional event.

Brayden Grossman, a 12-year-old golfer from Avon, is playing on the TPC River Highlands All-Star team in the 13U tournament while Farmington’s John Lahtinen, 14, and Unionville’s Ryan Wang, 15, are playing on the NPI team in the 17U tournament. Each team contains six golfers.
