SOUTHINGTON, Sept. 30, 2022 – Lincoln Cardillo ran for a game-high 164 yards and three touchdowns to lead No. 1 Southington to a 37-9 win over Simsbury in CCC Tier 1 action on Friday night.
In the third quarter, Simsbury’s Dan Sullivan hit a 43-yard field goal, which is three yards shy of the school record of 46 yards set by Aaron Pumerantz against Wethersfield in 1996.
Ravi Bhamidipati and Austin Coiro had interceptions for Simsbury (1-3) while Coiro caught seven passes for 95 yards. Trojan QB Charlie Strayer completed 9-of-23 passes for 118 yards and a touchdown.
Southington QB C.J. DiBenedetto completed 10-of-21 passes for 198 yards and a touchdown. Cameron Beaudoin caught five passes for 72 yards for the undefeated Blue Knights (4-0).
