McAtee scores career-high 36 to lead Lewis Mills to season-opening win

BURLINGTON, Dec. 15, 2022 – Connor McAtee sank 13 of 18 shots from the field and scored a career-high 36 points to help the Lewis Mills boys basketball team roll to an 89-51 win over E.O. Smith in the season opener for both teams on Thursday night in Central Connecticut Conference action.

The Spartans dominated from the start, racing out to a 12-point lead after one quarter and extending it to 22 points at the half. Mills (1-0) had 20 assists on 30 baskets and had 16 steals as a team.

Eli Pelletier had 12 points for Mills while Jon Schibi added 11. Connor Evans pulled down a team-high seven rebounds while Gavin Daly and Charlie Joiner had five assists each.

Lewis Mills returns to action on Monday when they visit Southington.
