SIMSBURY, Dec. 19, 2022 – Lauren Sabia scored a game-high 34 points, including 24 points in the second half to lead No. 8 Simsbury to a 48-44 win over Northwest Catholic in Central Connecticut Conference action Monday night.
The Trojans (2-0) were playing without injured All-CCC player Olivia Jarvis but got six points, 10 rebounds and five assists from Faye Kaplinski.
Northwest Catholic (1-1) was led by Abby Casper with 16 points and Maeve Staunton with seven points.
Simsbury returns to action on Friday when they host Enfield at home beginning at 6:45 p.m.

SOUTHINGTON, Dec. 12, 2022 – Connor Evans had 15 points with Jon Schibi chipping with 11 points but Southington was too much in a 68-54 victory over the Lewis Mills boys basketball team Monday in CCC play.
Jack Stanislaw and Connor McAtee each had 10 for Mills (1-1), which trailed by 10 after one period and couldn’t never quite catch up.
Southington (2-0) was led by Aiden Buck with 28 points and Ryan Hammerlund with 15. Mills returns to action on Friday night at Bristol Eastern.
