Simsbury beats Conard for shot at CCC West title on Monday

Simsbury’s Amanda Gallagher had a game-high 18 points in Thursday night’s win over Conard.

SIMSBURY, Feb. 9, 2023 – Amanda Gallagher had a game-high 18 points as the Simsbury High girls basketball team beat Conard, 47-37 on Thursday night and set up a game with Glastonbury on Monday for the CCC West championship.

Simsbury (16-3, 6-0 CCC West) and Glastonbury (16-3, 6-0 CCC West) will square off on Monday at 6:45 p.m. with the winner bringing home the divisional championship. The Trojans last won the CCC West championship in 2000.

But first, Simsbury had to get past Conard (15-4, 4-2 CCC West) on Thursday. Olivia Jarvis and Faye Kaplinski had 13 points each for the Trojans while Reece Wilson pulled down 13 rebounds and had four steals in the victory. Gallagher, who averaged 19.0 points per game in a pair of wins this week for Simsbury, was 9-of-9 from the free throw line.
