Dr. Christopher May, who coached the Canton High girls cross country team for three years from 1980-82, died suddenly on Thursday, August 22. May taught biology at Canton High and was also a Senior Class advisor before moving to teach biology at New Milford High.
May later graduated from the UConn School of Dental Medicine and became a dentist. He and his wife, Susan, moved to Avon in 1993. In 2011, he was elected to his first term on the Avon Town Council.
Calling hours will be Wednesday, Aug. 28 from 4-8 p.m. at Carmon Funeral Home in Avon with the funeral service on Thursday, Aug. 29, at 10 a.m. at Valley Community Baptist Church in Avon.
