Horbatuck sparks undefeated Falcons to win over Dragons

AVON, March 4 — Defending Class M champion Avon beat No. 30 Middletown (8-12) in the Class L girls basketball tournament opener for both teams Wednesday, 59-45.

Lindsay Horbatuck had 18 points, 17 rebounds and six steals for the No. 3 Falcons (24-0). Avon will host No. 14 Windsor (15-6) on Friday night at 7 p.m. Ariana France has 12 points for Avon while Lauren Primovic added 10, including seven free throws.
