HADDAM, Aug. 2 – Fairfield American’s dynasty in Little League baseball continued Tuesday night. Not only did Fairfield American win its third straight Minor Division (ages 10-11) state title with a 7-5 win over Avon but the Fairfield American Major Division All-Stars won their second straight state title by beating Glastonbury American in three games.
In the best-of-3 Minor Division championship series, Fairfield American rolled to a 13-2 decision in game 1. Fairfield grabbed a 6-0 run lead in game two but Avon (7-3) rallied to make it a game before falling by two runs. Avon was making its first-ever appearance in the Minor Division state finals.
