LeDuc wins Lobster Loop for 2nd straight year

CANTON, Aug. 19 – Canton’s Michael LeDuc won the Canton Lobster Loop 5K Road Race for the second straight year with a three-second win over Burlington’s Kevin Sullivan Sunday morning. LeDuc, an All-American steeplechase runner at Connecticut College in New London, ran the 3.1 mile race in 16:20.

New Hartford’s Anne Marie Tuxbury snapped the long winning streak of Mary Lynn Currier in the race by finishing 14th overall and taking the women’s championship in 18:22. Currier had won the last eight women’s titles and finished second in the women’s division, about a minute off the pace. There were 477 finishers in the 21st annual event that raises money for the Canton school’s Parent Teacher Organization (PTO). More results can be found here.
