Canton’s Nikki Liucci, a freshman at St. Francis College, N.Y., played well this fall with the women’s golf team. Liucci concluded the fall season by finishing eighth at the Quinnipiac University Fall Invitational. She shot an 82 in round 2, the second-lowest score of the day, for a two-day total of 167 to finish eighth.

“The girls are continuing to improve in each tournament,” commented St. Francis head coach Julio Campuzano. “After these five tournaments, we have a solid foundation to make the necessary improvements to come back in the spring and continue to make progress.”

As a whole, the Terriers placed sixth in the two-day tournament, tallying a total of 732 while shooting their fourth-lowest team total of the fall season with the mark.  Host Quinnipiac took home their first ever tournament win, shooting a second-round team low of 328 to win the event with a 661.  Merrimack College placed second (666) while Fairfield (672), Wagner (696) and Delaware State (701) rounded out the top five spots.

The Terriers will return to action in the spring.  For the latest updates on the St. Francis College women’s golf team, log on team’s webpage at www.sfcathletics.com.
