With win, Canton earns bid to Class S and NCCC Tournaments

CP basketball graphicCANTON, Feb. 21 – The Canton High boys basketball team earned at least another two chances to play basketball with a 47-42 win over Shepaug Valley in the regular season finale Thursday night.

With the win, Canton (8-12) qualifies for the Class S basketball tournament and the NCCC Tournament, too. Canton will play at Suffield on Friday night at 7 p.m. in a first round NCCC contest. If the Warriors prevail, they will play in Avon on Saturday at 1 p.m. in the quarterfinals.

Canton won two of its final three games to earn a post-season bid. Patrick Sullivan scored 17 points while Cam Daley added 12 last night for the Warriors. On Saturday night, Canton outlasted East Granby, 57-53 for their seventh win of the season behind 18 from Sullivan and 14 from Daley.
