NAPERVILLE, Ill. — Canton’s Michael LeDuc, a junior at Connecticut College, finished third in the 5,000 meters Saturday at the NCAA Division III indoor track and field national championship meet at North Central College.
LeDuc was the No. 6 seed in the race but passed three runners in the final 100 meters and earned All-American honors for the fourth time in his collegiate career.
“We are really proud of what Mike’s performance today,” Connecticut College head coach Ned Bishop said. “It was another great national meet for him.”
Haverford junior Chris Stadler won the race with a facility record time of 14:27.74 with North Central College junior John Crain taking second in 14:28.92.
LeDuc set a new Connecticut College record in the 5,000 in February at the Tufts Invitational, winning that race in 14:28.61.
LeDuc previously earned All-American honors in cross country (fall 2012) and outdoor track (3,000 meter steeplechase, spring 2012 and spring 2011).
