WEST HARTFORD, April 8 — President Obama gave a 28-minute speech to thousands at the University of Hartford on Monday urging legislators in Congress to pass stricter gun control legislation.
“This is not about politics. This is about doing the right thing for all the families that are here that have been torn about by gun violence,” Obama said. He said Connecticut was able to pass bipartisan legislation because they listened to one another. He hopes that Congress can do the same.
