Canton’s Mike LeDuc, a junior at Connecticut College, will run in two events at the NCAA Division III national championship meet this week at the University of Wisconsin-LaCrosse.
LeDuc has qualified to run in the 3,000 meter steeplechase, where he is the No. 2 seed, and in the 5,000 meters.
He will compete in the steeplechase with the preliminaries on Thursday night at 8:30 p.m. LeDuc qualified with a school-record time of 8:54.80 on April 5 at the Sam Howell Distance Invitational hosted by Princeton. The championship final will be Saturday at 2:10 p.m.
A year ago, LeDuc earned All-American honors at the 2012 NCAA Division III championship meet by taking fourth. In 2011, LeDuc was sixth in the event.
LeDuc will also compete in the 5,000 meters, where he is the No. 18 seed. He did defend his New England Division III title in the 5,000 on May 4 with his time of 14:30.03 at Colby College in Maine. That race will be Saturday night at 5:55 p.m.
LeDuc, who has earned All-American honors in cross country and indoor track and field (5,000), is majoring in botany at Conn College.
