CHICAGO, Dec. 6 – Avon native Ben Smith scored his fourth goal of the season but the Chicago Blackhawks dropped their third straight game with a 3-2 loss to Anaheim in a shootout at the United Center on Friday night.
Smith scored on a wrist shot from near the right circle with 4:05 left in the first period to give the Blackhawks a 1-0 lead. Smith now has two points in his last four games. Smith has scored four goals and six assists this season for 10 points.
