Canton girls rally past Coventry for fourth win

CP basketball graphicCANTON, Jan. 7 – After squandering a 13-point second quarter lead, the Canton High girls basketball team found themselves down by two points one minute into the fourth quarter. But the Warriors stepped up and made plenty of big plays in the fourth quarter to beat Coventry, 53-38 Tuesday night.
Canton (4-2, 2-1 NCCC) ended the game on a 21-4 surge to grab the victory. “Emily Briggs, Maggie Treacy and Gabby Rose made big play after big play down the stretch on the offensive end,” Canton coach Brian Medeiros said. “Jacquie Grabowski, Erin Detorie and Alex Martin did a great job defensively in the fourth when we switched to man to man defense.”
Briggs all scorers with 16 points while Treacy scored 14 points and Rose chipped in with 12.
