COVENTRY, Feb. 7 – Freshman Emily Briggs had 12 points and 13 rebounds while teammate Gabby Rose scored 11 points, pulled down 7 rebounds and had six steals as the Canton High girls basketball team won its seventh straight game.
Canton (12-5, 9-4 NCCC) began the game with a 17-4 run to seize control from the start. Maggie Treacy, who had a team-high 13 points, began the game by scoring the first eight points of the contest.
“It was a nice team effort,” Canton coach Brian Medieros said. “We forced a lot of turnovers and played well together.”
Alex Martin had nine points while Jacquie Grabowski scored six points and had six steals for the Warriors. Canton concludes its regular season with a home game against Somers on Tuesday night and will be at SMSA in Hartford next Friday night.
