CANTON, Jan. 31, 2014 – The Canton High girls basketball team ended a marathon run with a dash Friday night. Playing their fifth game in seven days, the Warriors won for the fifth consecutive time with a high-scoring 73-37 victory over East Granby.

It’s the most points that Canton (10-5, 7-4 NCCC) has scored in a game since 1999 when the Warriors had 73 points in a win over East Granby.

It was a balanced effort for Canton, which received a game-high 14 points from junior Gabby Rose and 10 from sophomore Maggie Treacy. Senior Erin Detorie had nine while freshman Emily Briggs and junior Jacquie Grabowski had eight points each.

It was the fourth game of the week for the Warriors. They beat Somers on Monday night, Enfield on Tuesday night to earn a berth into the Class S tournament. Canton beat Northwestern Regional on Thursday evening.
