Sun to hold open practice Tuesday in East Hartford

CT Sun logoUNCASVILLE, May 1 — The Connecticut Sun will hold an open practice on Tuesday, May 6, at the Connecticut River Academy at Goodwin College in East Hartford.

The practice, which is open to the public, will begin at 6 p.m. in the Connecticut River Academy gymnasium. There will be an autograph session immediately following the practice.

“We are looking forward to showcasing our new roster and Goodwin’s new facility,” Connecticut Sun vice president and general manager Chris Sienko said. “We hope to have a great crowd on hand for this event.”

The Connecticut River Academy – Goodwin College’s magnet high school – opened its $57 million, 105,000-square-feet building during a ribbon-cutting ceremony on January 7.

Located on the college campus beside the historic Connecticut River, the Academy is an high school with an environmental science focus that includes river studies; land, water and air quality; plant and animal growth; human ecology; and renewable energy.

Connecticut’s only major professional sports team, the Sun begin their 12th season at Mohegan Sun Arena on May 16 against the New York Liberty at 7 p.m.
