LITCHFIELD, June 5 – Pitcher Jordie Scheiner struck out seven and pitched five innings of shutout ball to lead the Tri-Town Trojans to a 12-0 victory Thursday evening over the Canton Crushers at Community Field. Kyle Osolin and Connor Murray each pitched an inning in relief to earn the shutout for the Trojans (3-1). 

Osolin was 2-for-3 with three RBI and a walk while Casey McDonald had two hits and two RBI. 

Winless Canton (0-5) was limited to just three hits – singles from Mark Trotta, Mike Bowes and Grant Snyder. They were shutout for the third time in five games. Lefthanded pitcher Jose Alvardo got the start and took the loss for the Crushers. 

Canton hits the diamond again on Sunday morning when they travel to Thomaston face the Threshers (0-3) at 9 a.m. at Thomaston High. Jim Spirito is scheduled to get the start on the mound for the Crushers.
