Crushers can’t cool off red-hot Blaze

Baseball ImageWATERTOWN, July 13 – The red-hot Watertown Blaze showed no signs of cooling off on Sunday with a 16-3 win over the Canton Crushers at Deland Field. The Blaze (10-3), who remain a half game behind Naugatuck for the lead in the Tri-State League, won their sixth straight game and for the eighth time in the last nine games.
Watertown pitcher Andrew Reel picked up the win, allowed just three hits and striking out four. Spencer Griffin led Canton (1-14) with a triple.
 
For Watertown, Matt Paoloa was a busy man. He had three hits, including a home run, six RBI and scored four runs. Mike Mastrocola had three hits, three RBI and scored three runs while Chris Comeau, Kyle Tehan and D.J. Ouellette each had two hits.
