Avon’s Minor Division (age 10-11) baseball team won its sixth District 6 title earlier this month, beating Tri-Town. However, in the state tournament, Avon picked up their first losses of the tournament and was eliminated.

Avon lost to District 3 champion Seymour, 13-3 in its Division II tournament opener. Two nights later, Avon (5-2) was beaten for a second time by Seymour, 11-4. Southington South won the Division II tournament by beating Seymour.

Farmington won the Division II tournament before falling in the Section I championship game to Fairfield National, 11-0.
