Canton athletes earn All-State, All-NCCC honors

Canton logoSeveral Canton High athletes were recognized for their outstanding athletic achievements this spring.

Senior catcher Katie Hill was named to the Class S All-State softball team by the Connecticut High School Coaches Association (CHSCA). In the final 16 games of the year, Hill hit .510 with 26 hits, six doubles, three triples, a home run and 24 RBI. Canton golfers Logan Anderson, Riley Hollis and Alexander Olker earned All-State honors in boys golf for the Warriors, who finished second in Class S for the second time in five years.

Cam Daley earned All-State honors for winning the 300 hurdles at the Class S championship meet. Canton’s 4×800 relay (freshman Max Sparks, senior Dean Yost, senior James Yost, senior Augden Shaw) earned All-State honors for winning the state title as the Class S meet. 

In girls lacrosse, Grace Giancola and Olivia Sullivan earned All-State honors. 

Other Warriors earned All-NCCC honors in their respective sports.

  • GIRLS LACROSSE: Emma Charron, Amanda Gottlieb, Grace Giancola, Olivia Sullivan
  • BOYS TENNIS: Rich Hefler, Jonas Real, Jon Smith
  • GIRLS TENNIS: Kate Hynes
  • BASEBALL: James Treacy
  • SOFTBALL: Katie Hill, Jill Petraitis, Katie Walker
  • BOYS TRACK: Will Briggs, Cam Daley, John Solomon, Nico Tuccillo, James Yost 
  • GIRLS TRACK: Emily Mitchell 
  • BOYS GOLF: Riley Hollis, Logan Andersen, Alex Oiker 
  • GIRLS GOLF: Didn’t participate in a conference this spring. There is no NCCC league for girls golf.
