Travelers Championship week is here

CROMWELL, June 22 – Many of us lament the loss of the Hartford Whalers and the National Hockey League. We sometimes take for granted that Connecticut has had a major league PGA event in the state since 1952. It’s the Travelers’ Championship and play begins Thursday at the Tournament Players Club at River Highlands.

Several of the world’s top players have committed to play in Cromwell this week – Bubba Watson, Sergio Garcia and four-time Major winner Ernie Els. The always popular Pro-Am is Wednesday. Take a peek at what is coming up this week in Cromwell from our friends at Litchfield County Sports.
