Bob Barton has been covering high school football in Connecticut for a long time. A really long time. His earliest days on the job came in 1955 when in ventured into historic Yale Bowl to see Hillhouse and West Haven battle.

The former copy editor at the New Haven Register is still a voter in the state sportwriters top 10 poll and is the co-editor of the Connecticut High School Football Record Book. He’s out nearly every weekend to see the best and brightest games around the state.

In his annual preseason look at the state of football across the Nutmeg State, Bob takes a look at the changes in high school football in 2015 across Connecticut and some suggestions on big games you could take in for this high school football campaign.
