Canton sweeps Suffield; FHS blanks Avon despite 14 kills from Laszewski

Volleyball Logo CPCANTON, Oct. 6 – Rachel Falzone had 19 digs and Delaney Brown had four kills to lead the Canton High girls volleyball team to its third win of the season with a 3-0 sweep over Suffield in NCCC play Tuesday. The Warriors (3-5, 3-5 NCCC) snapped a two-game losing streak with a 25-17, 25-21, 25-20 decision. Caitlin Bombard had 12 assists for Suffield (4-5, 3-5 NCCC). The Warriors travel to Bolton on Thursday for their next game.

Farmington 3, Avon 0
AVON, Oct. 5 — Defending Class L champion Farmington controlled host Avon with a 3-0 victory in CCC Central White Division play Monday night. The Indians (8-2, 5-0 CCC Central White) swept the Falcons, 25-15, 25-17, 25-17 despite 14 kills and two blocks from Avon’s Abby Laszewski. 

 
Maddie Hart had four kills for the Falcons (7-3, 4-1 CCC Central White) while Della Hellwig had a team-high 14 digs. The six teams in the CCC Central White Division play each other twice for 10 matches. The Falcons will visit Farmington on Oct. 27 at 6 p.m. in the second meeting of the season.
