NESN to broadcast eight NWHL games out of Boston

The New England Sports Network (NESN) has reached an agreement with the National Women’s Hockey League to broadcast eight Boston Pride games this season including three games with the Connecticut Whale.

It’s the first broadcast agreement with the NWHL and the broadcasts begin Sunday at 3 p.m. when NESN broadcasts the Boston Pride’s home game against the New York Riverters from Harvard’s Bright Landry Hockey Center. Games against Connecticut on Sunday, Nov. 29, January 17 and February 14 will be broadcast on NESN or its sister station NESN Plus.

All of the games on the NESN schedule will also be broadcast on the NWHL’s You Tube channel via the NWHL Live: Cross Ice Pass for fans living outside of New England.

Nov. 22: New York Riverters, 3 p.m., NESN
Nov. 29: Connecticut Whale, 3 p.m., NESN
Dec. 6: New York, 3:30 p.m., NESN
Dec. 20: Buffalo Beauts, 3 p.m., NESN Plus
Jan. 3: Buffalo, 3 p.m., NESN PLus
Jan. 10: New York, 3 p.m., NESN Plus
Jan. 17: Connecticut, 3 p.m., NESN
Feb. 14: Connecticut, 3 p.m., NESN Plus

“We’re happy NESN is providing a stage for and shining a spotlight on some of the best players in the world,” said Dani Rylan, commissioner of the NWHL. “This is a great opportunity for women’s hockey to reach the four million viewers in NESN’s coverage area.”
