A Pittsburgh company that specializes in helping people choose the college or public school system of their choice has compiled the top 100 high school sports programs in Connecticut. Niche.com said it is a comprehensive assessment of the sports and fitness of a public high school.
Avon was ranked No. 45 in the state while Canton came in at No. 95. Each of the other five Farmington Valley high schools was included in the rankings.
Simsbury came in at No. 5 with Farmington at No. 8. Granby was ranked No. 15, Lewis Mills was ranked No. 44 and East Granby was ranked at No. 87. The top ranked athletic program in the state by Niche was Glastonbury, followed by Fairfield Warde and Darien.
