Somers overwhelms Warrior wrestlers

SOMERS, Dec. 29 – Canton’s Trey VandeBogart won by tech fall over Somers’ Zachary Patsun but the host Spartans overwhelmed Canton with a 54-11 decision in NCCC wrestling on Tuesday. Due to forfeits, there were just four matches out of 14 weight classes. Canton had just five wrestlers available to compete.

Canton’s Grace Mates (113), Aiden Pass (160) and James Pelehach (170) wrestled Tuesday and each was pinned. The Warriors slipped to 1-2 on the year and in the league. Canton will compete Saturday at the Chad Antoch Invitational in Coventry, R.I. Somers improves to 3-3 overall and 2-1 in the league.
