RICHMOND, Va., April 8 – Centerfielder David Dahl hit the first home run in Yard Goats history and drove in two runs to lift Hartford to an 8-3 win over Richmond in Eastern League baseball action Friday night at the Diamond. Pat Valaika had a double, single, drove in two runs and scored twice for the Yard Goats, now 2-0.
Left-handed pitcher Carlos Hernandez worked 1 1/3 innings of relief to earn the win for Hartford. The Yard Goats complete the four-game series with a doubleheader Saturday against the Flying Squirrels beginning at 2:05 p.m. You can listen on WPOP-AM (1410).
